Friday, Aug. 22-1:14 p.m. - Caller advises there is a gold Bonneville with Michigan plates driving east from Ethridge at a high rate of speed. We advise Montana Highway Patrol. MHW advises she stopped that vehicle and cited at 100 mph.
1:41 p.m. - Caller advises the crossing arms on Galena have been down for a long time with no train in sight. We try calling BNSF and are put on hold. Then call Havre dispatcher and have them advise BN. At 1:58 p.m. BNSF advises they have the message and a maintenance person is en route to repair the crossing arms.
4:15 p.m. - Male caller advises a missing or runaway person is in Kansas and he is coming down to file a missing or runaway person complaint. The subject had been working with custom cutters but was to be home Aug. 20. The male called subject's mother who said he was in Kansas with the same custom cutters. We enter juvenile in NCIC file. Male caller calls back and says the subject is in Joplin, his mother lied about his whereabouts. We call Liberty County Sheriff's office and ask them to send an officer out to pick up the juvenile, then learn that male caller wants to wait until 10 a.m. Saturday to go and pick up juvenile with a deputy's assistance.
6:26 p.m. - Deputy is out with a Thunderbird on Galena and is following the vehicle to an apartment house reference a food fight. He advises he will be out with complainant who waved him down and complained of someone throwing Chinese food on his vehicle. They have cleaned up the mess now.
9:09 p.m. - Officer is out in motel parking lot with a Mercedes Benz SUV with no license plate. He gave the VIN number. Vehicle has a Colorado temporary tag and male driver listed has no restrictions.
9:46 p.m. - Male caller reports hitting a deer on U.S. Highway 2 between MP 301 and MP 302. It is unknown if the deer is dead as he was unable to find it. Driver came into the office to file a report.
11:22 p.m. - Officer advises there is an open door on the old Hannah Holmes building. We advise the water system men are using that building. Officer advises he is just going to close the door as nobody is there now.
Saturday, Aug. 23
1:05 a.m. - Female advises she needs to speak with a deputy about domestic abuse that happened last week and earlier tonight. She gave directions for deputy to locate her place and says she has marks on her neck from him choking her. We advise that if he returns she should call 911. Deputy asks that the dispatcher call female and advise her a deputy is in the area if she needs him. Dispatcher cannot reach her on cell phone and landline has been disconnected. Deputy goes to residence and speaks with female. At 2:14 a.m. deputy is en route to Shelby.
2:03 a.m. - Female calls and when dispatcher gets on the phone she hears a lot of yelling, then female gets on the phone and says a male just knocked on her door and then grabbed her shirt and ripped it off her. She provided address of male. Deputy advises we should have the victim come to the office so he can stay out looking for the accused subject. Two females come in to make statement. Deputy locates subject and advises him he is not to have contact with the female or the witness.
3:55 a.m. - Officer at Port of Entry Sweet Grass advises he has a male that advises his bike was hit at the bar in Sweet Grass. Deputy advises him to call Montana Highway Patrol and if they cannot get anyone we will send out a deputy.
10:49 a.m. - Female caller wants to report child abuse. Dispatcher asks where this took place. She said in front of an apartment and it looks like a mother is beating her child. Caller advises it is a green small newer car, then advises it is a man beating a woman, younger age kids. Caller advises the car is leaving and deputy states he will be out with this vehicle in front of railroad station. Deputy advises this was a brother/sister fight and mother is going to handle it.
12:33 p.m. - Caller advises he needs an ambulance for a male who fell off the platform and has a head injury. We page ambulance and they transport subject to the hospital.
3:14 p.m. - Male in Sweet Grass advises his motorcycle has been stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Friday night and 7 a.m. Saturday morning. He has been looking for it for the last three hours to see if someone was just playing a joke on him. There is a motorcycle event going on in Sweet Grass. We send deputy to Sweet Grass to speak with caller. Officer speaks with caller, checks at Port of Entry then heads back to Shelby. At 8:14 p.m. we receive a call from Missoula County Detention Center advising that they had just recovered the stolen motorcycle. When we call back they inform us this was misinformation. They do not have the motorcycle. At 9:49 a.m. Sunday morning a Border Patrol officer advises he located the motorcycle on a rural road and will stay with it until someone arrives. We call someone to bring the cycle to the impound yard and use gloves while doing so. Border Patrol officer advises there are foot signs if we want to take pictures of them.
3:19 p.m. - Female caller requests an officer over a verbal argument she is having with her boyfriend and she wants him out of her house. Caller sounded drunk. Deputy reports to the residence and advises this is just a verbal argument and the male party is leaving and has a place to stay for a while so hopefully it will not escalate.
11:08 p.m. - Female at local business requests a deputy as there is another female who used to work there that is throwing things and causing a problem. Dispatcher advises deputy who reports to the business. Deputy picks up female and drops her off at her residence. She is asking about her knife and deputy tells her when she sobers up she can come and get the knife. She requests that someone put it in her mailbox tomorrow.
Sunday, Aug. 24
12:20 a.m. - Deputy advises there is a vehicle in the ditch in front of a business on west end of Shelby. Deputy advises we should call towing company to get the car out of the ditch.
4:11 a.m. - Officer at Port of Entry in Sweet Grass advises he has a young male who was beat up by his father. He is Canadian but was beat up on the U.S. side at a local business. They request an ambulance. The father advises his son hit him in the head with a pipe and vandalized his motorcycle. We advise him to come in and fill out a statement. Now the son is claiming his father tried to rape his girlfriend. We advise owner of business to keep father there. Ambulance advises they will not be transporting. Deputy returns to the office with one male and one female. Motorcycle has been placed with a family member who did not see anything. Deputy spoke with father regarding motorcycle damage.
7:50 a.m. - Male caller advises the Coyote from Shelby High School is missing. Deputy speaks with a school employee who reports it is still missing and has been since May. There is already an open case on this.
3:33 p.m. - Female came in to advise a male picked her up and dropped her on the cement. She has an injured arm from this incident. She was given a statement form to fill out.
8:34 p.m. - Male caller advises there is a vehicle by the school and a couple of kids there as well. Dispatcher advises deputy who is reporting to the scene. We contact male who called and ask him to watch them until deputy gets there and if they leave note the direction they take. Caller advises they were at the Central School where the outhouses were tipped over. Deputy is out there but cannot locate anyone. He will report to home of male caller and speak with him.
